Key Takeaways
  • Sungrow introduced SG465HX, a 465 kW utility-scale string inverter designed for 1,000 V AC systems and grid-forming operation

  • The company presented an integrated liquid-cooled C&I ESS alongside a DC-coupled hybrid inverter platform

  • The solutions focus on system integration, grid compatibility, and flexible deployment for utility-scale and C&I PV projects

Sungrow, a global PV inverter and energy storage system (ESS) provider, presented new inverter and energy storage solutions for utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) PV projects at the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) 2026 in Abu Dhabi. Part of the company’s showcase was a utility-scale string inverter, apart from integrated PV and energy storage solutions for C&I applications.

Utility-Scale Inverter for Large PV Plants

Sungrow showcased the SG465HX utility string inverter for large-scale solar plants. This 465 kW inverter is designed for 1,000 V AC systems and supports subarrays of up to 9.84 MW. According to the company, the platform is intended to respond to tighter grid requirements while enabling higher system density at the plant level.

Integrated C&I PV and Energy Storage Solutions

For C&I projects, Sungrow presented both AC-coupled and DC-coupled system configurations. One of the solutions on display was PowerStack ST255CS, a liquid-cooled C&I energy storage system rated at 125 kW / 257 kWh. The unit integrates the power conversion system and battery cabinet into a single enclosure and is intended for microgrid and distributed energy applications. Sungrow states that the AC-coupled design supports grid-forming operation and delivers stable output under varying operating conditions.

According to the company, PowerStack ST255CS incorporates multi-level safety protection from cell to system level, and is designed as a pre-integrated solution to support faster deployment and retrofitting. The system is intended for applications including energy cost optimization, backup power, and emissions reduction in C&I environments.

DC-Coupled Hybrid Inverter for C&I Systems

Sungrow also launched SH125CX, a 125 kW 3-phase hybrid inverter for DC-coupled commercial and industrial PV and storage systems. This inverter combines solar generation and battery storage on a single platform and works with Sungrow’s ST255CS-S battery, eliminating the need for a separate power conversion system in the battery cabinet.

SH125CX supports PV DC/AC ratios of up to 200% and provides 40 A input current per MPPT, enabling compatibility with high-current PV modules. Sungrow added that the architecture allows inverter and battery capacity to be scaled independently, supporting changing load profiles.

The company stated that the SH125CX hybrid inverter and PowerStack ST255CS storage system work together to create a flexible, integrated solution for C&I PV and storage needs.
