Key takeaways:

  • The project integrates a 10 MW PV system with storage and energy conversion systems

  • It includes 1,200 Nm³/h of hydrogen production, a vanadium flow battery storage, and a heat storage tank

  • Apart from green hydrogen production, it also aims to supply energy, hydrogen, oxygen, and steam to industrial users

A green hydrogen project from Sungrow Hydrogen, a subsidiary of leading PV inverter manufacturer Sungrow, was nominated as one of the finalists for The smarter E AWARD 2025 under the Outstanding Projects category.

The project integrates renewable energy with storage and hydrogen production. The project comprises 10 MW of PV power generation, 1,200 Nm³/h of hydrogen production, a 1.5 MW/6 MWh vanadium redox flow energy storage, and a 2 MW/10 MWh high-temperature heat storage tank. According to the company, all these technologies are integrated using an intelligent approach to store and convert the power generated from the renewable source.

Besides producing green hydrogen, the project also aims to explore methods of providing renewable energy and raw materials to other industries, especially the chemical industry. The company highlighted that the production of hydrogen, oxygen, electricity, and steam in an environmentally-friendly technique benefits chemical production facilities.

While the company’s broader portfolio includes scalable hydrogen solutions and modular plant designs, such as the newly launched MegaFlex system, further technical specifics about the award-nominated project are not publicly available as of the time of this article.
