Established in 2016, Sunova Solar, a Chinese photovoltaic (PV) cell and module maker introduced the latest n-TOPCon cell-based Tangra series PV Module portfolio at the recently concluded SNEC 2024. Recently, the company announced the merger with the sister company, Thornova Solar, and its decision to use the latter’s brand name going forward. Sunova Solar says that currently, the company has 4 manufacturing plants in China and Vietnam, with an expected cumulative operational capacity of 10 GW of PV modules and 9 GW of cells each by the end of 2024.

Speaking to TaiyangNews during the event, the company highlighted the latest Tangra L series and colored Zosma S series PV module among other offerings. The company noted that its displayed products apply to multiple operational scenarios.

Utility application

The latest Tangra L HD 615 series bifacial module, featuring 132 pieces of G12R or 182 x 210 mm size rectangular half-cells, boasts a power output of up to 615 W and an efficiency of 22.8%. This commercially available 2,382 x 1,134 x 30 mm size module can be deployed in solar parks or industrial rooftop applications, added the company. The module, certified to withstand up to 2400 Pa of wind load and snow load of up to 5400 Pa, is covered with 2 mm thick front and rear-side glass each. The company emphasized that Its 15 years of product quality and 30 years of linear power guarantee can be attributed to Sunova’s high-quality manufacturing process and lower annual power degradation.

The company also showcased the Tangra L Pro 710 series bifacial module suitable for utility-scale application. The company noted that the 2,384 x 1,303 x 35mm size module with 132 pieces of G12 or 210 x 210 mm size half-cell matrix delivers a power output of up to 710 W and a maximum efficiency of 22.9%. This module, laminated with 2 mm thick front and rear PV glass each, is also certified to withstand up to 2400 Pa of wind load and snow load of up to 5400 Pa.

Both the 15 years of product quality and 30 years of linear power guarantee of the commercially available module can be attributed to Sunova’s high-quality manufacturing process and lower annual power degradation.

Commercial & Industrial (C&I) application

Alongside the utility application product, Sunova introduced the bifacial Tangra M Pro 585 and its monofacial counterpart Tangra M 585 module in the event. Both modules featured 144 pieces of half-cells of M10 or 182 x 182 mm size n-TOPCon cells boasting a maximum power output of 585 W and an efficiency of 22.6%. The company noted that both the 2,278 x 1,134 x 30 mm size commercially available modules are suitable for C&I rooftop applications. These module’s 15 years of product quality and 30 years of linear power performance guarantee can be attributed to multiple key features – no LID, improved low irradiance performance, low-temperature coefficient, lower risk of hotspot due to lower operating current, and higher external mechanical load carrying capacity.

Residential rooftop

Moreover, the company also focused on the latest offerings for residential rooftop applications by displaying colored Tangra S CX series 440 W modules. Sunova exhibited blue and brown color models in the show. The company says that the colored module, featuring 108 pieces of half-cells of 182 x 182 mm size p-PERC cells boasts power output in a range of 425 W to 440 W and a maximum efficiency of 22.5%. This 1,722 x 1,134 x 30 mm dimensioned commercially available module offers 15 years of product quality and 30 years of linear power performance guarantee, added the company.
