Solum Photovoltaic Innovation S.L. is a Spanish company that has developed a solar-powered charging station for light electric vehicles (LEVs) called Helios. The solution was one of the finalists for the Power2Drive AWARD 2023.

The Helios station is a compact and modular unit that can be easily installed in a variety of locations, such as parking garages, bike racks, and public spaces. The Helios station is powered by a solar panel array that can be installed within the vicinity of the charging station and power is stored into the integrated battery. The battery powers the charging station and can also be used to provide backup power in the event of a power outage. The system is autonomous from the grid; thus, it can also be installed in remote locations with no proper access to grid.

The Helios station can charge a variety of LEVs, including e-bikes, e-scooters, and Segways. Depending on the configuration of the station, it can provide charge to 6 LEVs simultaneously. The charging time also depends on the system configuration including the solar panel array's power output and the battery capacity. It further comes with an app-controlled security system that protects the vehicles from theft during the charging process.
