Trina Solar, one of the leading Chinese PV manufacturers, recently expanded its Vertex S+ module series based on the 210 mm rectangular wafer-shaped i-TOPCon dual glass module. Trina claims a power output of 505W for the new module NEG18R.28 Vertex S+ 505W, and an efficiency level of 22.7% with a 30-year performance warranty.
Launched for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications, the new module comes in a dimension of 1961mm X 1134mm X 30mm and weighs 23.5kg.
The Chinese manufacturer's new offering is lightweight, covering <2m2 surface area to make the panel easy to handle, install, and ensure that these are robust enough for larger-scale commercial installations. Trina Solar claims the new modules are flexible in a variety of installation solutions like short–side and long–side clamping, crossed beam, shared rail and slide-in mounting in C&I installations.
The thin module is made up of 1.6 mm glass on both the front and rear side which, the manufacturer explains, makes the installation easier for hard-to-reach spaces. Its high short circuit current makes it compatible with all kinds of balance of systems (BOS), it adds.
The panels are said to have passed several environmental stress tests like hail test, mechanical load test- 5400Pa snow load & 2400 Pa wind load, fire rating test according to the relevant IEC standards. It also claims the use of sustainable dual-glass design provides high resistance against common C&I level pollution. Trina is offering product warranty for up to 25 years and 1st-year low power degradation of 1% and 0.4% annual degradation for up to 30 years for the new module.
