Chinese solar PV products manufacturer Trina Solar says the new generation of its Vertex S+ solar modules, based on 210mm n-type i-TOPCon cell technology, now offer up to 445W power output and 22.3% efficiency.
Released at the Spanish International Energy and Environment Trade Exhibition (GENERA) 2023, the modules come with a double glass design that the manufacturer claims improves reliability of the components while reducing use of organic materials.
Compared to other p-type commercial modules, Trina claims Vertex S+ can generate 10% more power over the 30-year operational life. The company is targeting rooftop solar space for these modules.
The Chinese company is offering 25-year product and 30-year power warranty for the new modules.
This module series was originally launched by Trina in March 2022 in Australia with up to 21.9% efficiency and 425W output using its 210mm wafer sized n-type PACO cell technology. An upgrade of its Vertex S series, these modules cater to residential, commercial and industrial segments (see Trina Solar Launches N-Type Vertex S+ Module). It is also listed on TaiyangNews Top Solar Modules Listing (see Top Solar Modules Listing—February 2023).
A leading proponent of 210 wafer sized cells, Trina plans to expand its 210+n-type solar module production capacity to 30 GW annually by the end of 2023.
During the TaiyangNews Solar Module Innovations Conference 2023 on January 31, 2023, Trina Solar's Jerry Cao shared details of the company's n-type i-TOPCon solar technology. His presentation is available here.
