Chinese perovskite PV manufacturer UtmoLight introduced its Chuangshi series of perovskite modules at SNEC 2026. The series comprises the high-strength Chuangshi S2 for extreme weather conditions and the lightweight S1 for applications with structural load limitations. The company says these modules have been developed to address module strength, safety, and application-specific requirements.
Chuangshi S2 is a 500 W, 2.81 m² high-strength perovskite module featuring 3.2 mm tempered glass. According to UtmoLight, its optimized functional-layer design improves the module’s mechanical strength. The product’s design makes it suitable for installations exposed to strong winds, heavy snowfall, and other harsh weather conditions.
At the event, UtmoLight received TÜV Rheinland certification, recognizing the S2’s high-strength design. The module passed static load tests of 5,400 Pa on the front and 2,400 Pa on the rear, along with a hail impact test using 45 mm hailstones traveling at 33.9 m/s, and no visible cracks were observed after testing. According to UtmoLight, the module has also been evaluated for fire resistance and hot-spot performance.
The second product, Chuangshi S1, is a lightweight module. It is designed for installation on building rooftops, mobile energy systems, and applications where weight and installation requirements are prioritized. The 0.72 m² module uses a 1.1 mm dual-glass structure. A thickness of 2.6 mm and a weight of 4 kg make this module more than 62% lighter than conventional modules, according to UtmoLight. The S1 supports adhesive-bonded installation, reducing the need for conventional mounting components.
