  • Vilion’s EMS enables coordination with solar, wind, DGs, and EV charging systems in real-time

Chinese energy storage solution provider, Vilion (Shenzhen) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., has unveiled its latest commercial & industrial (C&I) battery energy storage solution (BESS), the EnerCube.

At the core of Vilion’s new offering is its containerized modular architecture, providing a total storage capacity of 2,250 kWh and supporting a 1,000 kW power conversion system (PCS). It comprises 8 modular lithium-iron-phosphate batteries and 1 electrical cabinet. According to the company, each battery unit is physically isolated from the other and managed independently. Every cabinet, equipped with its own Battery Management System (BMS), controls operational temperature, detects and mitigates any potential fire propagation in real-time. According to the company, EnerCube is engineered to operate under extreme environmental conditions, with a temperature range of -30°C to +50°C, without derating. It also operates at its full load capacity in hilly regions with an altitude of up to 3,000 meters. The storage system, weighing 27 tons, is housed in a standard 20 ft container (6.058 m × 2.438 m × 2.896 m). Its enclosure, which has an ingress protection level of IP54, is rated for relative humidity of up to 95% in an industrial environment. This system enables charging/discharging with a response time of under 200 ms, making it well-suited for grid ancillary applications, such as fast frequency regulation and peak shaving. It also has applications in industrial parks, solar plus storage, and EV charging stations.

Vilion also emphasizes EnerCube’s compatibility with multiple energy sources, including PV, wind, and diesel generators (DGs). Its energy management system (EMS) coordinates PV inverters, storage systems, DGs, and EV chargers, and dispatches optimized energy in real-time.
