  • According to the manufacture, the product can connect to all irradiance sensors from any manufacturer

Finland based industrial measurements company Vaisala has launched a new product called Automatic Weather Station AWS810 Solar Edition that it claims provides a combination of solar irradiance and key weather parameter measurements to optimize solar power plant performance.

Compliant with IEC, the weather station also offers optional advanced analytics and digital insights to help maximize operational efficiency of the projects, it added.

It can provide information about wind speed, wind direction, ambient and PV module temperature, precipitation, relative humidity and atmospheric pressure. An easy-to-deploy solution, it is equipped with self-diagnostic and network monitoring features that enable users to manage and control the networks remotely.

The new Vaisala product, the company adds, can connect to all standard, smart, high quality irradiance sensors from any manufacturer to collect global, direct and diffuse irradiance data and albedo.

Vaisala says it can also be easily expanded to meet specific project needs including seamless data connectivity with SCADA systems and cloud-based asset management platforms.

"The 360-degree, always-on monitoring and analytic capabilities combined with the modular design delivers a robust and scalable performance that optimizes operations at any point in the solar power plant life cycle — from development, construction, and commissioning to operations and life cycle management," said the Head of Renewable Energy at Vaisala, Davy Theophile.

Vaisala will exhibit at Intersolar Europe 2023 in Munich from June 14-16. Their stand No. is: B3.354
