The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is inviting proposals from interested developers to establish a hybrid power project comprising 1.5 MW hydroelectric and 100 MW floating solar plant at Morbe Dam in Raigad district of Maharashtra.
Morbe Dam is the main source of water supply to the city of Navi Mumbai which was developed as a satellite township of Mumbai in 1970s.
The floating solar power plant needs to be set up in 3 phases of 40 MW, 30 MW and 30 MW. According to the NMMC, required annual power generation from the total 101.5 MW capacity must be 10.80 million units from the hydroelectric plant, and 208.8 million units from the floating solar project.
Power generated will be procured by the corporation for a period of 25 years for a tariff that shouldn’t exceed INR 3.90 ($0.051) per kWh.
Hydroelectric part of the project needs to come online within 25 months from the date of signing of PPA, and the floating solar facility should be commissioned within 17 months.
Proposals will be accepted till April 25, 2022, according to the tender documents available on NMMC’s website with Tender Reference No. NMMC/CE/370/2021-22.
