Indian hydropower utility NHPC Limited is soliciting bids from EPC companies for the development of 600 MW grid connected solar PV project and associated transmission line for power evacuation. It will be connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS) substation and solar park in Rajasthan.

The selected contractor will also be required to provide comprehensive operation and maintenance for 10 years to the project, after commissioning it within 18 months. NHPC is developing the 600 MW project under the Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Parks (UMREPP) scheme of the federal Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) (see India Modifies Solar Park Development Scheme).

According to tender details available on the Government of India’s eprocure.gov.in website with tender ID 2021_NHPC_638231_1, NHPC will be accepting online bid submissions till August 31, 2021, and offline submissions till September 6, 2021.

NHPC is also planning a 600 MW solar park in Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh, on an island in the midst of Ghaghra river (see India PV News Snippets: NHPC, ReNew, AC, Sri Lanka, Mercom).

In June 2021, NHPC Limited had launched an EPC solicitation exercise for 50 MW floating solar PV power project to be set up at West Kallada in Kerala’s Kollam district, with comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) for 10 years.

According to the Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEBL), the 50 MW project will be developed by NHPC under UMREPP scheme.

Last date to submit bids for this 50 MW floating solar PV tender of NHPC is August 5, 2021. Tender details with ID 2021_NHPC_634250_1 can be viewed on the eprocure.go.in website.

According to its website, NHPC has 3.4 GW of solar power projects under planning as UMREPPs, out of 6.575 GW total solar projects under planning.
