BHEL Launches 300 MW Solar PV Tender

Anchoring & Mooring Services Required For Floating Solar Plant For Odisha’s Rengali Reservoir

  • BHEL has launched a solicitation for the supply of essential equipment for a floating solar plant  
  • The project with 300 MW AC capacity is planned to come up at Rengali Reservoir in Odisha’s Angul district 
  • BHEL requires services for the design, supply and assembly of floating system and associated anchoring and mooring for the facility 

The Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has invited bids for the supply of essential equipment for a 300 MW AC floating solar PV project at Rengali Reservoir in Angul district of Odisha.  

The Indian government’s engineering arm is looking for a pre-bid tie-up with interested companies for the design, supply and assembly of floating system and associated anchoring and mooring for the project.  

A 120 MW hydro power dam on River Brahmani led to the creation of the Rengali Reservoir, located about 85 kms from Angul.  

The tender with notice inviting tender (NIT) no. NIT_76472 was launched on August 24, 2023. Bids will be accepted till September 4, 2023.  

In April 2023, NHPC invited bids for the 300 MW floating solar plant at Rengali Reservoir, including laying transmission lines and comprehensive operation and maintenance for the same (see Indian Solar Tenders From CEL & NHPC).
