  • HROTE has invited proposals from renewable energy producers for a combined 607 MW capacity
  • Solar PV has been allocated a combined 450 MW capacity in 2 categories
  • The remaining capacity is to be sought from wind and hydroelectric power plants

HROTE, the Croatian energy market operator, has opened a public solicitation process to award market premiums to electricity production from renewable energy sources from both small-scale and larger projects. It targets a combined 607.25 MW capacity.

Under the category of projects over 1 MW, solar PV has been allocated 350 MW capacity with tariffs capped at €67.05/MWh. Tariffs cannot go beyond €75.27/MWh for wind power plants.

For hydroelectric plants with more than 1 MW and up to 10 MW capacity, the tariffs are capped at €158.30/MWh.

For the small-scale projects, HROTE has sub-divided the project range. It will select a total of 100 MW solar PV capacity from projects with more than 200 kW and up to 1 MW range, and from those with more than 200 kW and up to 6 MW capacity. Tariffs for this category are capped at €82.04/MWh.

The remaining 90 MW is to come from wind power plants within 3 separate ranges of more than 200 kW to 1 MW, over 200 kW to 6 MW, and exceeding 200 kW to 18 MW. Tariffs cannot exceed €75.27/MWh for these projects.

The maximum incentive to be granted to a single project is fixed at €30 million.

The tender was launched on June 12, 2024. HROTE will admit bids for 15 days till June 27, 2024, according to the tender announcement, as announced previously (see Croatia Announces Renewable Energy Tender For 607 MW).
