Germany's Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) plans to launch an innovation tender for special solar systems with a bid volume of 50 MW. Before launching the tender, it wants to solicit opinion about the rules for the same.

It defines special solar systems as placed on water bodies (floating solar), parking spaces (carports), and on arable with agricultural activities (agrivoltaics) projects. Such projects should not be operational still.

Comments to the consultation document, available in German language, can be submitted by July 16,2021. The innovation tender is planned to be launched by October 1, 2021 with a bid deadline of April 1, 2022.

Basis the feedback received, the agency will set the terms of the innovation tender.

The agency awarded 677 MW under the country's 1st innovation tender for renewable energy with spotlight on solar PV technology (see Germany Awards 677 MW In Innovation Tender For RE).
