  • GUVNL has launched a tender to secure power from 500 MW solar PV capacity under phase XVIII
  • There is provision of another 500 MW capacity under greenshoe option
  • Winning projects will enable discoms to meet their future requirements and also the RPPOs

Gujarat state discom Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) is soliciting bids from interested companies for 500 MW grid connected solar PV projects to be located anywhere in India under phase XVIII, with greenshoe option of an additional up to 500 MW.

Project can be co-located with an existing grid connected wind farm, provided there is spare capacity available on the grid.

Minimum solar power project capacity at a single location needs to be 25 MW. Bidders will be required to obtain necessary clearances and permits. Winners will enter a power purchase agreement (PPA) with GUVNL for 25 years.

This capacity will enable state discoms to meet their renewable power purchase obligation (RPPO), along with future requirements of discoms.

The tender was launched on October 21, 2022. Last date to submit bids through online mode is November 28, 2022 and that for offline the deadline is November 30, 2022. Further details are available on GUVNL’s website.

The discom had floated a tender for 600 MW grid connected solar PV projects to be developed at Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat under phase XVII recently.
