India's state-owned engineering and consulting firm Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) has invited interested companies to partner with for 26 MW solar PV capacity to be installed at airports in Oman.
Of the 26 MW, 20 MW is to be deployed at Muscat International Airport and 6 MW at Salalah Airport on an asset lease basis. TCIL plans to bid for this project as the main bidder and is looking for a pre-tender tie-up with a backend partner through this expression of interest (EOI).
Broad scope of work for the 26 MW capacity is for design, engineering, supply, construction, testing, commissioning and operation and maintenance (O&M) of the projects, on an asset-lease basis for a fixed tenure. TCIL has not disclosed the name of the Oman-based client on whose behalf it will bid for the project.
TCIL wants the winner to work on the project for it exclusively and on a back-to-back basis. The request for proposal (RFP) round for 26 MW solar capacity was announced on October 2, 2023 by Oman Airports with the last date to submit bids being October 23, 2023.
The Indian firm launched the EOI on October 9, 2023 with the last date of submission being October 16, 2023. Tender details are available on TCIL's website.
