India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has launched a call for 1 GW of hybrid wind and solar energy projects to be installed across India with interstate transmission system (ISTS) connectivity.  

Interested bidders need to bid for 500 MW solar co-located with 500 MW wind energy projects to be installed on lumpsum turnkey (LSTK) facilities, on captive basis. Comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) for a period of 10 years is also part of the job. Winning projects need to be commissioned within a period of 36 months.  

ONGC launched the call on August 12, 2024, with October 23, 2024, as the last date of bid submission. Details of the tender are available on the government’s e-procurement website with Tender Reference Number ZV8JC24007.  

Additionally, another state-owned agency SJVN Limited’s subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL) is looking for suitable land to host up to 500 MW solar energy capacity.  

It can outrightly purchase or lease up to 2,000 acres of land for a period of 28 years. This needs to be located in the vicinity of 765/400/220 kV Bikaner-IV Pooling Station in the state of Rajasthan.  

Interested bidders may offer multiple land parcels up to a maximum of 2,800 acres. It specifies that a single connected land parcel can either be 400 acres or in multiples of 400 acres, reaching a maximum of up to 2,000 acres.

It issued the call on August 12, 2024 and will admit bids till September 3, 2024.
