SJVN Limited is inviting proposals for the selection of hybrid power developers to set up 1,500 MW of inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind and solar hybrid power projects in India. The projects need to be built on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis, anywhere in India.
Such projects may either be co-located, or located in different locations. The different components of wind-solar hybrid RE power, i.e. solar and wind, can be connected with the ISTS network at different ISTS sub-stations.
The minimum volume a developer stands to win is 50 MW, with the condition that the rated power capacity of one resource, either wind or solar, shall be a minimum of 33% of the total contracted capacity. The maximum limit has been set at 750 MW. The contracted capacity will be quoted in multiples of 10 MW only.
The state-owned hydropower utility will offtake the power generated to sell it to different buying entities. The power purchase agreements (PPA) with the winners will be of a 25-year tenure.
The solar modules to be used for projects under this call must be from List I of the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).
Energy storage systems may or may not accompany selected projects, according to the tender call issued by SJVN on February 1, 2024.
The last date to submit bids is March 15, 2024. The request for selection (RFS) document is available on SJVN's website.
In December 2023, SJVN had launched a call seeking land for 200 MW solar capacity in Assam (see Indian Public Agencies Seeking Solar Panels & Land For PV).
