NLC India Limited, operating under the Indian Ministry of Coal, has opened a bid seeking the supply of central inverters for a 600 MW solar power plant in Gujarat's Khavda. 

The solar project is coming up in Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited's (GSECL) solar park at Khavda (GSECL Stage-2). NLC intends to develop the 600 MW project through its wholly-owned subsidiary NLC India Green Energy Limited. 

To be eligible for this call, bidders should have manufactured and supplied central inverters of 1.1 MW or higher capacity up to a cumulative 150 MW in one or more orders for solar power plants to government, quasi-government, public sector undertakings, public limited companies, private limited companies in the last 7 years. 

These should be in successful operation for at least 1 year from the date of commissioning. 

Broad scope of work includes manufacturing, supply, packing and forwarding, transportation including transit insurance of central inverters and their supervision during installation, testing and commissioning works at site. 

The tender was launched on February 24, 2024 and specifies the last date of bid submission as March 22, 2024. 

In January 2024, NLC was seeking 394 MW bifacial solar modules for the 600 MW Khavda project with a minimum 20% module efficiency at standard test conditions (see NLC India Limited Issues Solar Module Procurement Call).
