The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) in Jordan is soliciting bids from interested companies to deploy solar PV systems for the homes of military personnel who have suffered any injury during their service period. All the PV systems installed need to be connected to the grid.
Under the initial tender, the government targets to have houses of 523 military veterans solarized in Irbid governorate, falling under Irbid Electricity Company. The 2nd tender aims for 502 homes in Amman, Balqa, Zarqa and Madaba governorates connected to the grid managed by Jordan Electricity Company.
The 3rd tender will cover 353 homes in Mafraq, Jerash and Ajloun governorates, again under the Irbid Electricity Company.
Solar PV systems to be installed will need to have 3 kW DC/2.7 kW AC capacity. Broad scope of work will cover supply, installation, operation and maintenance of solar energy systems and all auxiliary equipment including inverters.
Tenders are open only to Jordanian contractors with a license from the ministry to install renewable energy systems.
Announced on August 6, 2023, the call will be open for submissions till August 28, 2023, according to the ministry.
