  • MSEDCL has issued a call to source solar power from 1 GW AC ground mounted solar PV capacity
  • It needs to be developed as ground mounted projects with a minimum capacity of 2 MW AC
  • Winners will enter into 25-year PPAs with MSEDCL to supply solar power for a fixed tariff to the agency

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co Ltd (MSEDCL) has launched a request for selection (RfS) round to procure solar power from 1 GW AC ground mounted projects to be developed within various districts of Maharashtra under Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) scheme.

The MSKVY scheme is aimed at supplying solar power to agricultural consumers during daytime. This tender follows the previous 1 GW AC capacity MSEDCL sought in June 2022 as the implementing agency of this scheme (see 1 GW AC Solar Procurement Tender By MSEDCL).

Minimum project capacity for a single location is specified as 2 MW AC, and maximum as 10 MW AC (2×5 MW AC).

Bidders are allowed to bid for one or more projects. The agency will consider projects under construction, those not yet commissioned, and the ones already commissioned but do not have any long-term PPA with any agency, and selling power on short-term or merchant plant basis.

MSEDCL will enter into 25-year power purchase agreements (PPA) with the winners for a fixed tariff.

Launched on August 18, 2022, last date to submit bids is September 19, 2022. Further details can be viewed on MSEDCL's website.
