  • NLC India is looking for 393.9 MW solar PV module capacity for a 600 MW project in Khavda
  • It needs bifacial modules based on monocrystalline/TOPCon technology with a minimum 20% efficiency
  • The modules need to offer a minimum of 540 W output and be able to sustain in ambient temperatures of -10°C and +60°C

Indian public sector undertaking (PSU) NLC India Limited has invited bids from interested solar module suppliers to procure up to 394 MW of PV Panels for a 600 MW project being built in Khavda, Gujarat.

It plans to deploy these for phase 2 of the 600 MW Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited's (GSECL) solar park at Khavda.

Issued by NLC on behalf of its wholly-owned subsidiary NLC India Green Energy Limited (NIGEL), the call invites companies to supply bifacial monocrystalline/TOPCon silicon solar panels with a combined 393.9 MW capacity for 1,500 V system voltage.

Power output needs to be a minimum of 540 W and module efficiency of at least 20% at standard test conditions. These can either have a glass-glass or transparent backsheet configuration with a minimum 70±5% bifaciality.

Their temperature coefficient should be above -0.37%/ºC, and should perform satisfactorily with ambient temperatures between -10°C and +60°C, according to the tender documents. Module dimensions sought are 2272 (±20) mm x 1133 (±3) mm.

NLC has specified that these modules should be listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List I.

The last date to submit bids for this tender launched on January 27, 2024 is February 27, 2024. The details of the Tender No: 2324000433 are available on NLC India's procurement website

In September 2023, NLC solicited bids for BOS works for a 600 MW Khavda project (see NLC India Launches Solar Tender For Gujarat).

NLC launched NIGEL in October 2023 to undertake a 2 GW renewable energy capacity implementation, comprising 600 MW capacity in Gujarat and 810 MW in Rajasthan (see India Solar PV News Snippets).
