Nama Power is seeking developers for the 1 GW Adam Solar IPP with BESS and the 500 MW Sinaw Solar IPP
The two projects have a combined estimated investment of $1.03 billion
RFQ document purchases close on July 12, 2026, while qualification submissions are due by July 27, 2026
Nama Power and Water Procurement, the state-owned power and water procurement agency in Oman, has launched a request for qualification round for two solar PV projects with a combined 1.5 GW capacity.
Among these projects is the 1 GW Adam Solar Independent Power Project (IPP) which will be accompanied by a battery energy storage system (BESS). It is planned to be located in Wilayat Adam on over 20 million sq. mtr. of land. Nama Power estimates the project to cost a total of $746 million.
The other project is a 500 MW solar facility planned to be located in Wilayat Sinaw on 5 million sq. mtr. land. It is expected to cost $288 million.
Nama Power issued the call for both these facilities in June 2026. The last date of purchasing RFQ documents is July 12, 2026, while submissions can be made latest by July 27, 2026. Details are available on its website with Tender Number OPWP/2026/022.
Both these projects are part of Nama Power’s 2.5 GW procurement plans for 2026, as released in its 2025 Annual Report. It is also advancing pre-development work for future solar projects under its Solar 2030 program (see Oman Plans 1 GW 24/7 Renewable Energy Project).
In May 2026, it entered power purchase agreement for around 2.7 GW renewable energy and storage capacity with O-Green (see Oman Signs PPA For 2.7 GW Renewable Energy & Storage Project).
