State electricity service provider in Rajasthan, the Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL) has invited developers to set up 1 GW solar PV projects across the state and connect these to the state transmission utility (STU).
Interested developers will be expected to identify land and secure all necessary approvals and interconnection with the nearest STU network. A single bid should cover a minimum of 50 MW capacity at a given location which can be quoted in multiples of 10 MW only. Only 1 project per developer shall be set up to supply the contracted capacity under the PPA.
Solar modules to be used for these projects must comply with Approved Models and Manufacturers of Solar Photovoltaic Modules (ALMM) of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
Projects need to be built at designated substations for an aggregate 1 GW on build-own-operate (BOO) basis with the RUVNL entering 25 years power purchase agreements (PPA) with the winners.
The tender was launched by RUVNL on January 18, 2023. Further details will be available on RUVNL's website.
As per the MNRE, India's total grid connected solar PV capacity till December 31, 2022 was 63.3 GW led by Rajasthan with 16.34 GW.
