- SECI has announced tenders for 2.05 GW of FDRE for power supply to Haryana’s HPPC
- 800 MW under FDRE tranche III will have some of the capacity come up within Haryana
- It has also issued a notice for 1.25 GW FDRE under tranche IV for power supply to Delhi’s BRPL and BYPL
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued 2 separate tenders to seek firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) from a total of 2.05 GW power generation capacity, located across India and supplied via interstate transmission system (ISTS) connectivity.
It has issued a request for selection (RFS) round for 800 MW FDRE capacity under tranche III with energy storage systems (ESS) being mandatory. Eligible projects need to be connected at a voltage level of 220 kV or more.
Broad scope of work will involve setting up ISTS-connected renewable energy projects including dedicated transmission network up to interconnection or delivery point and identifying land.
The minimum capacity for a single bid should be 50 MW, and maximum 400 MW when quoted in multiple of 10 MW. According to the tender, “For a Contracted Capacity of “A” MW as per the PPA, the RPD shall mandatorily install Solar PV capacity of minimum “1.5 x A” MWp in the State of Haryana, while remaining capacity may be installed anywhere in India.”
SECI will enter into power purchase agreements (PPA) with the winners for 25 years and further sell it to Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPPC). The renewable energy component should be suited to meet 100% FDRE power supply requirement of the buying entity or HPPC in this case, in a demand-following manner.
The government agency has also issued a notice inviting tender (NIT) for the supply of 1.25 GW FDRE tranche IV on a demand-following basis, to be supplied to Delhi utilities BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL), and BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL).
SECI said it plans to issue the tender for FDRE tranche IV with energy storage systems shortly.
Both the tenders were launched on August 14, 2023. The last date to submit responses online for the 800 MW capacity is September 29, 2023, while for offline medium the end date is October 4, 2023.
