

EPS is seeking solar, wind, and hybrid projects to be connected to Serbia’s transmission network
Under Group 1, projects will undergo competitive evaluation to identify those EPS could acquire
Group 2 covers biomass, waste-to-energy, biogas, landfill gas, and green hydrogen projects
Serbia’s state-owned utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) has launched a public call seeking renewable energy projects that it could acquire or develop in partnership with investors.
The call covers solar, wind, and hybrid projects with a minimum capacity of 50 MW each, planned to connect to Serbia’s transmission network. While storage is not a mandatory requirement for solar and wind energy projects, such co-located facilities will be evaluated additionally.
Projects under the call are divided into two groups. Under the first part, EPS will evaluate projects submitted by interested companies and investors through a competitive selection process. It will help identify projects that it could acquire.
“EPS wants to be the carrier of the energy transition and at the same time preserve the security of supply. We are opening the door to the best projects and partners on the market in order to accelerate investments in renewable sources and create a stable and sustainable energy system for the future,” said EPS General Director Dušan Živković.
The call is part of EPS's efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio and use existing energy infrastructure for new low-carbon projects.
EPS is also seeking partners for projects using biomass, municipal and industrial waste, organic waste, biogas, and landfill gas, as well as waste-to-energy and green hydrogen projects under Group 2.
It launched the call on September 8, 2026, but does not specify the last date for bid submission for Group 1 projects.
At the end of 2025, Serbia’s total installed renewable energy capacity stood at 3.81 GW, including 431 MW, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). By 2030, the country targets renewable energy to account for 45.2% of its total electricity mix, primarily with the help of solar and wind energy.
