Indian hydro and thermal power generator Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), a publicly listed company, has solicited bids from interested consultants to carry out a topographical and contour survey for close to 200 acres of land for it to host solar PV projects.
In the tender, it specifies the detailed survey and allied works to be done in a specified grid at specified intervals, including generation of AutoCAD drawings to implement the PV projects that will be located in and around DVC's thermal power stations.
Launched on January 12, 2022, the last date to submit bids is February 7, 2022, according to the notice published on Indian government's e-procurement portal with Tender ID: 2022_DVC_101574_1.
As per the company website, DVC's total installed power generation capacity is around 7 GW all of which comprises hydro and thermal power plants. It wants to add renewable energy projects across its power stations to achieve a greater percentage of renewable energy in its energy mix.
In December 2021, DVC entered a joint venture agreement with SJVN Ltd. to establish 2 GW of solar power projects as floating PV and ground mounted solar facilities (see India PV News Snippets).
