A total of over 1.1 GW AC new solar PV capacity has been tendered in India as Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) has invited bids for 703 MW capacity to be developed across Maharashtra, while the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited developers for 300 MW AC in Andhra Pradesh.
MSEDCL's 703 MW AC solar tenders
The Maharashtrian utility has launched 6 separate tenders representing a combined 703 MW AC, all spread across various regions in the state on land owned by the government.
It needs to be developed as 191 MW AC, 143 MW AC, 105 MW AC, 100 MW AC, 88 MW AC and 76 MW AC. Ceiling tariff for all these tenders launched under Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojna (MSKVY) is INR 3.20/kWh. For the 1 GW AC PV capacity tendered under MSKVY scheme in February 2023, MSEDCL capped tariffs at INR 3.30/kWh (see MSEDCL Launches Tender For 1 GW AC Solar Power).

SECI's 300 MW AC solar tender
The 300 MW AC SECI tender is for the development of a ground mounted solar PV project in Andhra Pradesh's Ramagiri under the CPSU Scheme Phase II.
Broad scope of work spans design, engineering, supply, construction, testing and commissioning the project with operation and maintenance (O&M) for 5 years.
PV modules for this project need to be supplied by the owner while solar inverters need to be sourced from class I local suppliers only. The latter is defined as a company whose goods, services or works offered for procurement has local content equal to or more than 50%.
SECI launched the tender on April 13, 2023 and specifies May 26, 2023 as the last date of bid submission.
