Through 2 separate tenders, the Tunisian Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy is seeking proposals for solar power capacity deployment including for 800 MW AC to be developed as 8 projects of 100 MW AC each, under the ambit of the National Program for the Development of Renewable Energies.
The 1st tender is open for 8×100 MW AC capacity to be selected under 4 rounds of 2 projects each. Deadline for proposals to be submitted under round 1 is June 15, 2023, round 2 is March 2024, round 3 is November 2024, and round 4 is September 2025. Selected developer will be expected to secure land.
The ministry is also looking for bidders to submit offers for 2 solar projects to be established on 300 hectares in Hecha, the Governorate of Gabes, and another on 270 hectares in Khobna in the Governorate of Sidi Bouzid. For these 2 power stations, it has not specified individual capacity of the facilities in the tender announcement.
For the Hecha and Khobna projects, bids will be accepted till May 18, 2023.
