Key Takeaways
  • Turkey’s Ministry of Energy has officially published the information for 2 GW YEKA renewable energy tender in the country’s gazette

  • It plans to tender capacity for 16 projects: 10 solar (850 MW) and 6 wind (1.15 GW) with detailed regional allocations

  • Solar plants can sell electricity generated in the market for 60 months; wind for 72 months, then enter 20-year PPA

The Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has officially announced the schedule of its planned 2 GW renewable energy tender. Applications for 850 MW solar capacity will be accepted on November 4, 2025, and for 1.15 GW wind energy on November 18, 2025.

Announcements for the tender under the country’s flagship Yenilenebilir Enerji Kaynak Alanları (YEKA), or Renewable Energy Resources Zones, program and connection capacity allocations have been officially published in Turkey’s Official Gazette.

Out of total 16 projects planned across both the technologies, 10 will focus on solar energy divided as 100 MW, 150 MW, 85 MW in Erzurum, 40 MW each in Van, Mardin, and Kahramanmaraş, 50 MW each in Elazığ and Bolu, 260 MW in Eskisehir, and 35 MW floating solar power plant in Demirköprü.

Remaining 6 projects will be onshore wind facilities with the largest planned to host 500 MW capacity in Sivas.

Winning solar energy facilities will be able to sell electricity generated on the free market for 60 months from the contract signing date, and for wind power plants it will be 72 months. Post this, projects will enter 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the government.

The ceiling and base tariffs are the same for solar (€0.0325/kWh) and wind (€0.0350/kWh) energy projects as announced by the Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar recently (see Turkey Targets 2025-End For New Renewable Energy Tenders).

Turkey plans to hold annual renewable energy auctions for 2 GW for solar and wind projects until 2035 to meet its 120 GW installation targets across both the generation sources.
