With the growing demand for tracker-based ground-mounted PV installations in India, this year’s REI Expo saw the participation of multiple PV tracker makers, such as Sunchaser Structures. This Rajkot, India-based tracker company showcased its latest tracker models and a carport structure at the expo.

During an exclusive one-on-one conversation with TaiyangNews, Chintan Patel, CTO of Sunchaser Structure highlighted 3 different types of tracker models and a carport structure system at the company booth. The company, which boasts an in-house, integrated tracker fabrication unit, can produce various customized tracker systems using steel sourced from approved vendors.

Horizontal Single-Axis Tracker

Sunchaser’s Horizontal RC1P & RC2P Single-Axis tracker models, equipped with a multi-drive rotating mechanism, can independently rotate along the east-to-west direction with a tilt range of + 60° to - 60°. As the names suggest, RC1P is suitable for 1-in-Portrait module configuration, while the larger RC2P can accommodate modules in a 2-in-Portrait configuration. The company says that each row of these tracker models can incorporate up to 130 modules. According to the company datasheet, these trackers feature a stow position at 0° for wind speeds of up to 180 km/h, while various other tracker suppliers offer a higher tilt angle stow position. SunChaser highlighted the RC2P model’s elevated design, which is particularly well-suited for Agrivoltaic PV applications, thanks to its increased ground clearance.

Additionally, the company displayed a tailor-made horizontal single-axis tracker, featuring tilted modules at a 10° inclination angle always looking south, specially optimized for the Indian market.

Besides the rotating tracker models, the company also promoted its fixed-tilt Solar Carport canopy structure at the exhibition.
