Vikram Solar Appoints New Chief Executive Officer

• Vikram Solar has appointed Saibaba Vutukuri as the company's new CEO
• Managing Director Gyanesh Cahudhary will support Vutukuri in the transition process during first half of the year
• Chaudhary will continue as the managing director and will focus on the company's future expansion, portfolio diversification and growth plans

Indian solar PV module manufacturer and EPC solutions company Vikram Solar Limited has announced the appointment of Saibaba Vutukuri as its new chief executive officer (CEO). Its former CEO Gyanesh Chaudhary will continue as the Managing Director of the company that boasts of 1.1 GW annual module manufacturing capacity.   

Vutukuri joins Vikram Solar from Inox Wind Ltd where he was the President and CEO-Diversification and has also held executive level positions in several organizations including Suzlon Energy Ltd.

Vikram Solar's management said Vutukuri's appointment marks the next phase of growth. His appointment leaves Chaudhary with time to take on a more strategic role involving portfolio diversification, key strategic initiatives and future ventures, the company said. Chaudhary will focus on future expansion of the company, exploring new business opportunities and growth plans including investments and major capex decisions among key business areas.   

"Sai's knowledge and experience will be an extremely valuable asset to Vikram Solar. His wide experience in solar manufacturing, corporate affairs and international markets will help us to further strengthen our leadership position in the renewable sector," said Chaudhary. "I will be supporting Sai in the transition process during the first half of the year to ensure a seamless experience for all our internal and external stakeholders." 

The appointment of Vutukuri follows that of Ravindra Anil Vaidya who joined the company back in mid 2019 as its Vice President Global Markets to strengthen its international presence. He is stationed at Singapore (see Vikram Solar Brings In VP For Global Growth).
