Intersolar Europe Trade Fair Day 3 Snippets

AIKO’s New Module With Over 25% ‘Deliverable’ Efficiency & More From Tongwei, Array, RECOM, Anker SOLIX

The smarter E Europe 2024, under which the Intersolar Europe Trade Fair was held, ended in Munich, Germany on June 21, 2024 with 3,008 exhibitors from 55 nations displaying their products and services across 19 exhibition halls. Some 110,000 industry professionals attended the show from 176 countries.

Team TaiyangNews was on ground zero at the Intersolar bringing the latest in the world of solar PV market to our readers. Here’s more on that:

Chinese back contact solar PV manufacturer AIKO launched its new n-type all back contact (ABC) module series called INFINITE at the Intersolar Europe this year. It says these modules will deliver a maximum power output of 700 W and a deliverable efficiency exceeding 25%. This is thanks to improvements in cell efficiency and light absorption area due to the use of zero busbar (0BB), string soldering technology, and precise stacking, it says. The product makes use of the company’s self-developed ultra-high resistance silicon wafers featuring a doping concentration, lower than traditional wafers. These proprietary wafers of AIKO have a resistivity greater than 30Ω·cm. According to AIKO, the non-cell area of the module makes up approximately 6.5% of the module surface area. Since string connectors have been placed at the back of the module, the light absorption area on the front goes up by 1.1%, it adds.

The INFINITE series uses 2,382 mm x 1,134 mm dimension with a power output of 680 W and an efficiency of 25.2%. The power output of the 2,465 mm x 1,134 mm module is 700 W. All of these cover utility, commercial and industrial (C&I) and residential segments. At the show, AIKO also announced launch of a new module using GCL Technology’s granular silicon (see New ABC Module With 24.2 Percent Mass Production Efficiency).

Tongwei debuted at the Intersolar this year with its TNC-G12/G12R series modules. Talking about its various advantages, the Chinese manufacturer said thse modules offer high efficiency, low temperature coefficient and minimal degradation. Tongwei uses its self-produced solar cells to ensure high-power performance and enhanced quality and efficiency. It also used the platform to launch its 2023 ESG report and certifications from KIWA-PVEL, BSI and Fitch. Tongwei says it secured cooperation agreements with clients including Econergy, KP Solar Group SMLLC, Wattkraft, EEN and Nordic Sun & PTE at the event.

US solar tracker manufacturer Array Technologies presented its upgraded Array STI H250 solar tracker at the show. In the new version, it has reduced the number of piles/tracker and incorporates enhanced tolerance for East-West tilt, and a wider North-South angle between rows that improves its suitability for installation in challenging terrains, it says. Array has also integrated the transmission system from its DuraTrack tracker into STI H250 that it says enables the effortless removal of the driveline. This feature is especially helpful when it comes to agrivoltaic projects since it makes the tracker suitable for dual use alongside grazing animals and crops. Array says the new tracker is equipped with a new integrated control system and can also seamlessly integrate with Array SmarTrack energy optimization software.

RECOM brought its various products at the show including the Lion HJT 750 W panel. (Photo Credit: RECOM Technologies)

At its booth, RECOM Technologies displayed several of its new module solutions. This includes the Lion HJT 750 W panel that it says sets a new standard for power output in its series. It offers an efficiency of 24.1%. It also had Lynx Light 440 W TOPCon module that weighs 12.7 kg. The manufacturer targets this lightweight solution for several applications that can’t take heavy load of conventionally heavy solar modules. RECOM also presented its Zeus 350 kW 3-phase high voltage inverter with multi-MPPT. It says this is its most powerful product to date and is designed to meet the growing demands for both commercial and utility scale projects.

Anker

Anker SOLIX presented its X1 and Solar Bank 2 E1600 Pro products at the show. The Solar Bank 2 series comprises Solarbank 2 Plus and Solarbank 2 Pro. These include an inverter that reduces installation time (see American ESS Provider Unveils Its Latest Solar Bank 2 Series). The company’s X1 is a new modular home energy storage system that’s high on aesthetics and performance. It offers the possibility of flexibly using the electricity generated that can either be stored to be used for power outages or fed into the grid. It has an average consumption of 5,000 kWh and an electricity price of €0.35/kWh, it can save several hundred euros per household, assures Anker.

The smarter E Europe with all 4 of its individual exhibitions, namely Intersolar Europe, ees Europe, Power2Drive Europe and EM-Power Europe, will be back at Messe München from May 7 to 9, 2025.
