  • Runergy Alabama has announced a strategic partnership with solar recycler SOLARCYCLE

  • It will entail the latter supplying ultra-low carbon solar glass to Runergy over a 5-year period

  • It will also provide Runergy with comprehensive recycling services for its solar products

US solar PV module manufacturer Runergy Alabama has entered a contract with solar PV recycler SOLARCYCLE to source a minimum of 4 GW or 30 million m2 of high-efficiency ultra-low carbon solar glass over a period of 5 years.

SOLARCYCLE will manufacture this glass in part from recycled solar panels that Runergy will then use for its bifacial, high-efficiency solar modules.

Additionally, their partnership terms also include SOLARCYCLE providing comprehensive recycling services for Runergy Alabama’s solar products at the end of their lifecycle.

“This partnership not only strengthens our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint but also ensures that our products have a more sustainable lifecycle from production through to recycling for the U.S.,” according to Runergy Alabama Managing Director Dr. Jusong Wang.

Runergy recently inaugurated its Huntsville factory in Alabama with an annual nameplate production capacity of 2 GW (see Runergy’s 2 GW Solar Module Manufacturing Fab In Alabama, US).

SOLARCYCLE is building a solar glass production factory in the US with up to 6 GW annual capacity in Georgia. This will be its 3rd US fab as it already operates one in Texas and the other in Arizona for solar module recycling (see US Solar Module Recycler Expands With New Factory).
