The Indian state of Chhattisgarh is planning to set up a 500 MW solar power plant. First phase of the 250 MW project is expected to be installed in Rajnandgaon. Initial formalities for the project have already been completed, reported local newspaper ET Energyworld.
Chhattisgarh Renewable Energy Development Energy Agency (CREDA) Chairman Purander Mishra told media that the plant will come under the state's solar power project. According to the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), a solar park of 500 MW capacity is planned for the state by CREDA.
In April 2016, SECI had issued an amended request for selection (RfS) for 100 MW grid connected solar PV projects in the state of Chhattisgarh (see Amended RfS For Chhattisgarh).
