Jolywood N-type TOPCon achieves 24.5% mass production efficiency: Bifacial solar cell and module manufacturer Jolywood announced that its holding subsidiary, Taizhou Jolywood Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. has made significant progress in mass production efficiency of N-type monocrystalline cells. Registering an efficiency level of 24.5%, the company said this is the highest ever in China. In August 2020, Jolywood  had launched Bifacial Solar Module Series with up to 615 W output using large size silicon wafer and multi-busbar technology (see New Jolywood Bifacial N-Type Module With 615W Output). Jolywood, a pioneer in TopCon technology, presented the latest on their product development at the recent TaiyangNews High Efficiency Solar conference (see Day 3: TaiyangNews High Efficiency Solar Event).

Kong Sun solar power generation from Jan to Nov at 1,695 GWh: In an announcement, Kong Sun Holdings Limited said that the total power generation capacity of the solar power stations owned by the group from January to November 2020 was approximately 1695 GWh, a 5% increase from the same period last year. The total installed capacity of the group on November 30, 2020 was 1,228.8 MW.

LONGi trial production at Yunnan successful: The first silicon rod produced at LONGi's Qujing base in Yunnan was released, marking a successful trial of the company's fourth production base in Yunnan. The world's largest silicon wafer maker said that the first phase of 10 GW is expected to be put into operation in April next year, while the second-phase of its 20 GW monocrystalline silicon rod and slice project is expected to start production in October next year. II´n September, LONGi said it plans to expand its monocrystalline silicon rod and wafer production capacity in China for a total investment of RMB 6.5 billion (see LONGi Expanding Silicon Rod & Wafer Production Capacity)

Tongwei issues shares to fund expansion: In a company announcement, Tongwei said that it will further enhance the scale of its existing solar cell business and consolidate its leading position. The company disclosed a report on the issuance of fixed increments, where it said that 213 million shares have been issued at the rate of RMB 28 ($4.28) per share and a total of RMB 5.98 billion ($.91 billion) has been raised. As per its plan, the funds will be directed towards 7.5 GW high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar cell smart factory in Meishan (Phase II) and Jintang (Phase I). Tongwei, a vertically integrated companies, is currently expanding on many levels, among others, it teamed up with Trina Solar for part of this (see Tongwei & Trina Solar Joint Venture For 210 Products).

GoodWe provides stable income to over 8,000 households: Solar inverter manufacturer GoodWe has provided the Fengning government with a high-quality photovoltaic poverty alleviation power station solution. This move enables more than 8,000 registered poor households in the county to earn a stable income up to 20 years, it said.
