The TaiyangNews High-Efficiency Solar Technologies 2025 Conference takes a break after 2 insightful days of discussions on back contact and TOPCon technologies.
Continuing the discussion on TOPCon, Day 3 of the Conference will resume on December 9, 2025, with a Welcome address from TaiyangNews Managing Director Michael Schmela. Prof. Dr. Peter Fath, CEO of RCT Solutions, will deliver the keynote address, speaking on the topic titled Learnings from Building Cell/Module Factories in Asia, Europe and America. This will be followed by presentations from JA Solar, Tongwei, LAPLACE, JTPV, and Exawatt. Schmela will be joined by Alex Barrows from CRU/Exawatt and Josua Stuckelberger from LAPLACE Technologies for a Panel Discussion to close out Day 3.

Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA) has initiated public tendering for its 2026 centralized framework procurement of PV modules and inverters for 31 GW capacity each.
The 31 GW module tender includes: 24 GW TOPCon modules, 4 GW back-contact (BC) modules, and 3 GW heterojunction (HJT) modules.
The 31 GW inverter tender includes: 20 GW of string inverters (>300 kW, AC ≥ 800 V); 8 GW inverter-transformer integrated units (≥3,125 kW); and 3 GW of string inverters (10-150 kW, AC 380 V).
In August, POWERCHINA launched a record 60 GW procurement tender for fixed-mounting systems covering 2025-2027 (see POWERCHINA Launches Record 60 GW Fixed-Mounting System Tender).
Recently, the Aba Rangtang Puxi II PV project, built by POWERCHINA, connected its first 102.56 MW generation block to the grid (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
GCL Energy Technology (GCL ET), the clean-energy operation and service arm of GCL Group, announced that it has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. The company stated that its business development aligns closely with UNGC environmental principles and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). GCL ET pledged to incorporate all 10 UNGC principles into its governance system and support the achievement of SDG 7 (affordable clean energy) and SDG 13 (climate action), integrating corporate operations with green transition values.
Earlier this year, GCL ET released a distributed PV aggregation platform developed in-house (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
PV glass manufacturer Ancai High-Tech (ACHT) has announced plans to upgrade its 900 t/d solar glass production line operated by its wholly owned subsidiary Henan Ancai PV in Anyang, Henan Province. Due to declining energy and economic efficiency and reduced competitiveness, the furnace underwent cold repair in January 2025. ACHT now plans to invest RMB 4.98 billion to transform the line into a production facility with an annual output capacity of 100.57 million m² of PV glass, while upgrading the raw glass, deep-processing lines, and related auxiliary systems. The construction period is expected to be 12 months.
