Integrated solar manufacturer Trinasolar held a signing ceremony with the government of Wujiang District, Suzhou, to jointly establish a benchmark Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) project – the Trinasolar Evergreen Headquarters.
A subsidiary of Trinasolar, Trinasolar Evergreen specializes in BIPV product solutions. The company promotes its ‘TEG’ solar tile for BIPV applications, designed to replace traditional tiles on residential and public building rooftops. Trinasolar states that the TEG solar tile weighs 40% of a traditional tile, features a 3.2 mm double-glass design, and offers 3 times the strength of traditional tiles. It adds that the product supports modular disassembly, ensuring convenient installation and operations & maintenance (O&M).
Trinasolar’s State Key Laboratory of PV Science and Technology recently announced setting a ‘new world record’ power output of 886 W for a large-area 3.1 m² perovskite-crystalline silicon tandem module (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Drinda, the parent company of Jietai Solar (JTPV), announced an H-share placement plan to raise HKD 411 million after deductions. The funds will be earmarked for strategic frontier sectors: about 45% will be invested in the R&D and production of space-based photovoltaic cell products, another 45% for equity investment and cooperation in the commercial aerospace sector, and the remaining 10% to replenish working capital. The company stated that this move aims to leverage the overseas financing platform to accelerate the application of PV technology in aerospace, expand the company's ‘second growth curve’, and enhance long-term competitiveness.
This announcement comes close on the heels of Drinda’s plan to acquire a 16.6667% equity stake in Xingyi Xinneng, aiding its expansion into space-based solar applications (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Solar cell equipment manufacturer Jiangsong announced the simultaneous factory acceptance and shipment of 2 core pieces of equipment. The delivery includes its TOPCon/BC cell sorter, which integrates multiple detection cells, including front/rear color inspection, IV/EL, and PL testing, to achieve fully automated, intelligent sorting. The concurrently delivered LPCVD main unit is a critical process tool for n-type cell manufacturing, primarily used for tunnel oxide and Poly-Si thin-film deposition. The company highlighted the equipment's advantages in high throughput, low energy consumption, and precise temperature control.
A consortium led by solar cell and module manufacturer DMEGC Solar has invested RMB 600 million in 2 companies, Shanxi Qinneng and Shanxi Qinyun (collectively ‘BCI’). As a vertically integrated operator of next-generation computing infrastructure, BCI focuses on building a low-carbon computing value chain combining ‘Advanced Energy + Advanced Equipment’. DMEGC stated that this move aligns with its strategy to ‘Strengthen Magnetics and Develop New Energy’. Leveraging DMEGC's advantages in magnetic devices for AI server power management and BCI's layout in renewable energy (wind, solar, and storage) and computing centers, the partnership aims to create business synergies across the computing-power coordination and data center supply chains.
Major power developer China Huadian Corporation released a tender notice for the 2026 centralized procurement of PV modules, aiming to procure an estimated 8 GW of n-type monocrystalline bifacial double-glass modules. The tender is divided into 2 sections: Section 1 covers n-type high-efficiency modules with an estimated capacity of 6 GW and a conversion efficiency requirement of ≥23.8%; Section 2 covers standard modules with an estimated capacity of 2 GW and an efficiency requirement of ≥22.8%. The bid opening is scheduled for February 11, 2026, and the framework agreement will generally be valid for 1 year.
