Leading PV and ESS manufacturer JinkoSolar, in its capacity as Chair of the Finance Task Force of the Global Solar Council (GSC), has officially released its position paper titled ‘How to Finance Solar for All?’ during the London Climate Week 2025. The paper lists the key challenges to scaling equitable and accessible solar finance globally, while offering actionable strategies to mobilize capital in underserved regions. Developed under the leadership of the GSC’s Finance Task Force, the paper represents a multi-stakeholder effort to promote financial inclusion in the global solar transition. The paper can be accessed here.
In an exclusive interview with TaiyangNews Managing Director Michael Schmela, JinkoSolar’s Global Vice President Dany Qian shared valuable insights into the current state of the solar market and outlined the company’s strategic roadmap for the future (see SNEC 2025 Exclusive: Interview With JinkoSolar Global Vice President Dany Qian).
Solar glass manufacturer Triumph New Energy has announced plans to construct a new production facility for ultra-thin solar photovoltaic glass and encapsulation materials in Zigong, Sichuan Province. The company is investing about RMB 1.4 billion ($194.3 million) in this project, which will be executed by its majority-owned subsidiary Zigong New Energy.
The plan includes a 2,000 t/d ultra-clear rolled PV glass production line, along with 8 supporting production lines for ultra-thin encapsulation materials for solar modules. The construction period is expected to last 12 months.
In January, Triumph Group was one among a group of 9 companies that issued a proposal to oppose the use of substandard solar photovoltaic glass by some companies trying to reduce costs by cutting corners (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Perovskite solar manufacturer UtmoLight has announced that its perovskite modules have recently received several international certifications. The company’s 2.81 m² perovskite module passed TÜV Rheinland North America’s safety and performance tests, including CSA C22.2 NO.61730 (Canada) and UL 61730 (US). Its 0.72 m² module has been successfully listed under Japan’s JPAC certification system.
Earlier this year, UtmoLight’s 2.81 m² module also passed the full suite of TÜV Rheinland IEC 61215/61730 safety and reliability tests (see China Solar PV News Snippets). The company said these new certifications provide a solid foundation for the global delivery and commercialization of its perovskite products.
Solar inverter manufacturer Solis has received ISO/IEC 27001 certification from TÜV SÜD for its information security management system. ISO 27001 is a globally recognized standard that evaluates a company’s practices across multiple domains, including information security, human resource security, asset management, and physical and environmental safety.
Solis stated that achieving this certification signifies its information security management has reached internationally recognized standards, ensuring robust protection for core data assets, user privacy, and the security of global operations.
On the earnings front, in May, Solis reported an 860% surge in net profit for Q1 2025 (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently issued a notice outlining plans to deepen the standardization of green and low-carbon practices in industry and information technology. The initiative prioritizes the development of carbon footprint accounting rules and standards for key industrial products, including steel, aluminum, cement, fertilizers, hydrogen, glass, lithium batteries, photovoltaics, and new energy vehicles. These products were selected based on their emission reduction potential, strong market demand, and supply chain impact. The plan also calls for the formulation of standards for zero-carbon factories and industrial parks.
