Trina Storage, the storage arm of Trinasolar, has announced that it has secured a spot on BloombergNEF’s Tier 1 Energy Storage Manufacturer list for Q2 2025 once again. The company says it is the 6th consecutive quarter that it has been ranked Tier 1 by BNEF. It said that this recognition reflects its strong system integration capabilities, global project delivery, and financial credibility. Trina Storage claims to have deployed over 10 GWh of battery systems globally, including more than 2 GWh in Europe, and expects annual shipments to reach up to 10 GWh in 2025.
Trina Storage recently received the ‘industry’s first’ IEC 61508-based Functional Safety Process Certificate, issued by UL Solutions (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Leading solar manufacturer LONGi Green Energy has been ranked the most valuable brand in China’s photovoltaic (PV) sector, with a brand valuation of RMB 73.48 billion ($10.2 billion), according to the 2025 China Brand Value Evaluation Information. The results were jointly released on May 10 by the China Council for Brand Development and the China Asset Appraisal Association at an event in Deqing, Zhejiang.
The evaluation covered 1,068 brands from multiple industries, following established international and national standards. LONGi's brand strength score was recorded at 912, placing it 13th among all energy and chemical enterprises nationwide. LONGi says this is its 10th consecutive year of growth in brand value since it first participated in the evaluation in 2015.
In addition to the brand value ranking, LONGi’s marketing case study titled Lighthouse Factory: Innovation Communication Leading Green Energy Brand Marketing was selected among 436 entries as a representative example in the field of green energy branding.
Founded 25 years ago, LONGi has expanded its global presence to over 160 countries and regions. The company continues to emphasize R&D and technological advancement, as well as engagement in global renewable energy efforts.
LONGi recently became the ‘world’s first’ company to receive TÜV SÜD’s PID-p certification (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Trinasolar has announced that it has supplied 210 MW of its high-efficiency Vertex N 720W series modules to a 1 GW solar-storage project in northwest China. To be grid-connected by the end of 2025, the project is expected to generate about 1.72 billion kWh of electricity annually. Vertex N 720W series modules feature i-TOPCon cell technology built on the 210 mm platform, and the company claims are the first TOPCon module to surpass 700 W output.
GCL Perovskite has launched what it calls the ‘world's first’ perovskite AI high-throughput device. The company says the device has been developed in-house, with GCL owning the intellectual property rights. The device sees its applicability both in R&D and production. On the R&D side, it collects ‘massive experimental data’ and provides quick verification of the effectiveness of new processes on the industrial side, with both sets of data interconnected in real-time through AI.
According to the company, the system integrates a network of 52 high-precision sensors, working in tandem with robotic arms and an AI core, to form a self-operating loop of ‘perception – decision-making – action – learning.’ By incorporating AI self-learning capabilities, the system operates continuously throughout the day and is capable of performing multiple coating processes for up to 300 cells per day, generating 1,800 sets of high-precision data daily. GCL Perovskite noted that the efficiency variation among cells produced by the system is less than 0.75%, demonstrating significantly better consistency compared to traditional manual methods.
GCL Perovskite also stated that it is advancing its GW-scale perovskite module manufacturing project, which is expected to commence production by the end of this year.
