LONGi receives ‘world’s 1st’ PID-p certificate from TÜV SÜD

Leading solar manufacturer LONGi has announced that it has become the ‘world’s first’ company to receive TÜV SÜD’s PID-p certification. The company’s HPBC 2.0 modules, Hi-MO 9 and Hi-MO X10, passed TÜV SÜD’s PID-p testing conducted in accordance with technical specifications PPP 58234A:2025 and IEC TS 62804-1 Ed2 (DTS). PID-p (Potential Induced Degradation–polarization) occurs when system voltage causes charge accumulation in the passivation layer of crystalline silicon cells, leading to performance loss. However, this degradation can be reversed through light exposure, particularly under UV light. LONGi reported that both Hi-MO 9 and Hi-MO X10 demonstrated stable and excellent performance throughout the full PID-p test cycle, underscoring the superior anti-PID-p performance of its BC modules.

LONGi recently announced a partnership with ENGIE to deploy Hi-MO 9 BC modules for utility-scale solar projects across the MENA region (see LONGi & ENGIE Partner To Power MENA’s Solar Future With Hi-MO 9).

Last week, DAS Solar received the ‘industry's first’ UVID certification from TÜV Rheinland (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Golden Solar unveils customizable HJT-perovskite tandem cell

Solar cell and module maker Golden Solar Technology has launched a new customizable heterojunction (HJT)-perovskite tandem solar cell. Named JGYC210, the tandem cell is based on the 210 mm wafer and integrates several advanced features, including ultra-thin wafers, bifacial microcrystalline structure, and low-silver conductive pastes. The company claims this integration of HJT and perovskite technologies enables the cell to reach a conversion efficiency of up to 32%. Golden Solar also emphasized the product’s high degree of customization, allowing it to be tailored for different application scenarios and delivering a competitive advantage through differentiated product design.

Gokin Solar plans 2 GW TOPCon module plant in Sichuan

Solar wafer and module manufacturer Gokin Solar has announced plans to build a 2 GW high-efficiency solar module production facility in Yibin, Sichuan Province. The 2 GW total module capacity will be split between TOPCon and BC equally. According to the environmental impact assessment submitted to the local Bureau of Ecology and Environment, the project involves a total investment of RMB 500 million ($69.7 million), which will feature dedicated production lines for n-type TOPCon (single-glass 72P) and BC (single-glass 78P) modules, along with a central warehouse, ultimately delivering a combined annual output of 2 GW.

Earlier, in March, Gokin Solar’s back contact (BC) modules obtained IEC 61215:2021 and IEC 61730:2023 certification from TÜV Rheinland (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Drinda becomes 1st PV company to list both A and H shares

With the recent listing of its stock (02865.HK) on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Drinda has announced that it has become the first PV company to list on the stock exchanges of both mainland China (A shares) and Hong Kong (H shares). The company said this dual listing helps it broaden its financing options and strategic footprint. Drinda will issue 63.4323 million shares at a price of HKD 22.15 per share. The company plans to mainly use the proceeds to build overseas PV cell production bases, technology research and development, overseas sales, etc.
