Germany’s October 1, 2025, rooftop solar auction for PV installations on buildings and noise barriers was slightly undersubscribed, with 281 MW awarded against 283 MW tendered.
Bundesnetzagentur, or the Federal Network Agency, received 140 bids totaling 310 MW for this round. Following the exclusion of 19 bids with a total capacity of 29 MW, 121 competing bids representing 281 MW were all selected.
However, Klaus Müller, President of Bundesnetzagentur, pointed out, “The volume of bids submitted in the tender for rooftop solar installations has increased slightly again after a downward trend in previous tenders.” In the previous round on June 1, 2025, it received 274 MW interest for the 283 MW tender and finally awarded 255 MW (see Germany Awards 255 MW Solar Capacity For June 1, 2025 Auction).
