  • The 250 MW Dondaicha Solar Park (Phase-I) auction by SECI has received INR 2.87 ($0.0407) per kWh as the lowest winning bid from Talettutayi Solar Projects
  • Tata Power and NTPC have secured 100 MW each offering winning bids of INR 2.88 ($0.0408) per kWh and INR 2.91 ($0.0412) per kWh
  • Another 1.2 GW solar-wind hybrid tender of SECI has received bids totalling 900 MW with only 2 bidders, according to Mercom

Talettutayi Solar Projects Three Private Limited, part of Solar Arise, has emerged as the lowest bidder in 250 MW solar PV auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation Limited (SECI) for Dondaicha Solar Park (Phase-I). It quoted INR 2.87 ($0.0407) per kWh to secure 50 MW of capacity in the auction.

Global investment and advisory firm ThomasLloyd acquired a stake in Delhi based Solar Arise India in October 2018 (see ThomasLloyd Acquires Stake In Indian PV Company).

According to Mercom India Research,  Tata Power won 100 MW for INR 2.88 ($0.0408) per kWh and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) also 100 MW for INR 2.91 ($0.0412) per kWh.

NTPC bid for the entire 250 MW but was allotted 100 MW for the auction. The tender was launched in August 2018. SECI capped the tariff at INR 2.93 ($0.042) per kWh (see SECI 250 MW PV Tender In Maharashtra).

Another SECI tender for 1.2 GW solar and wind hybrid power capacity (tranche-II) has received bids for 900 MW, reported Mercom. It received interest from only 2 bidders, Adani and ReNew Power that bid for 600 MW and 300 MW, respectively. It says the tariff cap of INR 2.70 ($0.038) per kWh acted as the deterrent for project developers. The tender was launched in February 2019 (see SECI Tenders For Over 4 GW Renewable Energy).
