The current PV cell landscape has evolved significantly from the times when a single technology dominated. While TOPCon technology has quickly developed into the state-of-the-art, architectures like heterojunction (HJT) and back-contact (XBC), though much smaller, are also in mass production, supported by multiple gigawatt-scale capacities. Researchers are also working hard on next-generation tandem technologies, with improving prototypes increasingly on display at solar trade shows.
Amid gigantic over-capacities and record low prices, PV manufacturers are looking desperately to cut production costs and differentiate with new products from the competition. In this context, TaiyangNews has hosted its annual flagship event – High-Efficiency Solar Technologies 2024. Spread across December 2 and 3, and December 10 and 11, this annual flagship conference of TaiyangNews brought together stakeholders from across the PV industry
