  • TCL TZE has had a top management change with the appointment of a new CEO

  • Li Dongsheng will assume the duties of the interim CEO till a replacement is found

  • The change follows the departure of Shen Haoping who resigned from the position on August 2, 2024

The world’s leading solar wafer and module manufacturer and the majority shareholder of Singapore-headquartered solar PV producer Maxeon Solar Technologies, TCL Zhonghuan Renewable Energy Technology Co. Ltd. (TCL TZE) has a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The group’s Founder and Chairman Li Dongsheng is the company’s new interim CEO.

A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Dongsheng is the Chairman of the Shenzhen Chamber of Commerce and the vice-chairman of the China Chamber of International Commerce.

His appointment was announced soon after Shen Haoping resigned as the CEO on August 2, 2024.

Haoping’s resignation was due to personal and professional needs, according to the management. However, he remains on the board as the company’s director and vice chairman, and continues to retain various related positions in the special committees of the board.

The board acknowledged the work of Haoping in leading the company as the latter improved its competitiveness to become a domestic leader in the solar wafer manufacturing domain.

The news of his departure comes soon after the group announced plans to establish a 20 GW solar ingot, wafer manufacturing fab in Saudi Arabia as part of its international expansion (see 20 GW Solar Ingot, Wafer Manufacturing Fab In Saudi Arabia).

Dongsheng will lead the company as the interim CEO till the board appoints a successor to Haoping.

Recently, TaiyangNews caught up with TCL TZE at SNEC 2024 in Shanghai, China where the company displayed its double-glass TOPCon-based shingled module series (see TCL TZE Expands Shingled Module Product Portfolio At SNEC 2024). The video of the interaction is available on the TaiyangNews’ YouTube.
