SolarEdge Gets New Chief Marketing Officer

SolarEdge Technologies Zeroes In On Ex-HP & Applied Materials Senior Executive Yogev Barak Appointing Him As Chief Marketing Officer

Solar PV inverter company SolarEdge Technologies, Inc. has announced the appointment of Yogev Barak as the company's new chief marketing officer (CMO). The Israel headquartered manufacturer has also appointed SehWoong Jeon as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its South Korean storage subsidiary Kokam.

SolarEdge acquired a 75% stake in Kokam in 2018 by investing close to $88 million in the company (see SolarEdge To Acquire South Korean Storage Company).

Barak comes to SolarEdge from companies like HP Indigo and Applied Materials where he held executive management level positions. Equipped with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Tel Aviv University, most recently, he was the Head of Strategy, Marketing, Products and Business Management at HP Indigo.

With more than 20 years of industry experience and a Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Colorado in the US, Jeong was till recently working with Samsung Electronics.

Barak's appointment has been announced after the company's VP Marketing and Product Strategy and Co-Founder Lior Handelsman left the company to start a career in venture capital in July 2020. He was said to continue serving the company as an advisor to Lando for strategic initiatives and projects (see SolarEdge VP Marketing Stepping Down).
