Betterial’s dual-coated PET backsheets feature distinct cell- and air-side coatings with varying PET core thicknesses
The BPF-802 model uses a simpler 2-layer design and is available only in white
Electrical and moisture barrier performance ranges across models, supporting both 1,000 V and 1,500 V systems
Changzhou Betterial Film Technologies Co., Ltd., a Chinese manufacturer of backsheet and encapsulation materials, is newly featured in the TaiyangNews Backsheets and Encapsulation Market Survey 2024/25.. The company has provided data for 3 non-fluoropolymer backsheets from the company: BPF-802, BPF-801-NF and BPF-801C-NF. BPF-802 is a 2-layered backsheet with 300 µm PET and 5 µm coating on the air side. Unlike the other 2 products, it is available exclusively in white. Introduced in 2020, BPF-801-NF has a 288 µm PET core, while BPF-801C-NF is constructed from a slightly thinner PET core of 275 µm. Both backsheets have a 10 µm coating on the cell side and a 5 µm coating on the air side. These are available in both white and black with a smooth surface finish.
Most properties of these 3 backsheets are identical, while their performance characteristics vary slightly. BPF-801-NF and BPF-802 can withstand a breakdown voltage exceeding 20 kV, have a low WVTR of less than 2 g/m²/d, and support a maximum system voltage of 1,500 V DC. BPF-801C-NF offers a lower breakdown voltage of >17 kV, a slightly higher water vapor permeability of ≤2.5 g/m²/d, and supports a lower system voltage of 1,000 V DC.
All 3 backsheets have a width of 1,300 mm and exhibit a tensile strength exceeding 100 MPa, elongation above 80%, tear strength of 60 N/mm, and dimensional stability of ≤ 60.
