  • Cybrid’s CPC backsheet uses a 288 µm PET layer with 12 µm and 4 µm non-fluorine coatings on cell and air sides, with 312 µm total thickness

  • The PPF model combines dual PET layers and non-fluorine coating, achieving 304 µm total thickness

  • Both designs offer reflectivity up to 78%, <1.9 g/m²/d WVTR, and meet 1,500 V partial discharge standards

Cybrid, a leading supplier of polymer material solutions, has shared data for 2 non-fluoropolymer backsheet products in the TaiyangNews Backsheets and Encapsulation Market Survey 2024/25: PPF and CPC backsheets. The previous survey listed 2 PPF-based backsheets from Cybrid; however, 1 has been removed, and the company is now promoting a single PPF backsheet. Additionally, Cybrid has slightly modified its previously listed PPF-based non-fluoropolymer backsheet and is now focusing on CPC backsheets in this survey. The new product is based on a coating named CPC.

This backsheet is designed with a 12 µm non-fluorine layer on the cell side, 4 µm on the air side and a 288 µm PET layer, which makes for an effective thickness of 312 µm. It is offered in both white and black on the front and rear sides. The rest of the specifications remain the same as the PPF products. The PPF product was introduced to the market in 2022. This backsheet follows a PET/PET/non-fluorine-based coating construction with respective thicknesses of 50 µm, 250 µm and 4 µm. The 2 PET layers are attached with an 8 µm adhesive, resulting in a total thickness of 304 µm.

Both these backsheets are supplied in widths of up to 1,320 mm. Cybrid offers this product range in white, with a glossy scratch-resistant finish. They offer a reflectivity of up to 78% and meet the 1,500 V partial discharge compliance standards. They have a breakdown voltage of 17 kV, lowered from 20 kV, and a water vapor permeability rating of <1.9 g/m²/d.
