RenewSys’ PRESERV A-WN backsheet features 4 variants using an H-PET/PET/Primer configuration
All models offer consistent mechanical properties with 90 MPa tensile strength and 90% elongation
Water vapor permeability is rated at 1.6 g/m²/d, with reflectivity of 80% and system voltage compatibility up to 1,500 V
The non-fluoropolymer-based backsheet is an important product segment for India’s RenewSys. We have data for one product series from the company, PRESERV A-WN, that follows an H-PET/PET/Prima configuration. It is offered in 4 variants with varied thicknesses of core layers and primer film, while the outer PET film thickness is the same at 50 µm.
The 3 models – PRESERV A 125WN, PRESERV A 150WN and PRESERV A 225WN – even have the same inner primer film thickness of 100 µm, but different core layer thicknesses – 125 µm, 150 µm and 190 µm, respectively. The PRESERV A 275WN, on the other hand, has a thicker PET core of 250 µm, but a thinner 50 µm primer. While this product series has different physical parameters due to its composition, the performance parameters of this product series are the same (see RenewSys Offers PVDF And Tedlar Backsheets With Multiple Thickness Options).
The entire product group from RenewSys has a tensile strength of 90 MPa and an elongation at break of 90%. Its EVA peel strength is 10 N/cm and inner peel strength is 0.5 N/cm. This backsheet comes in white on both sides and has a reflectivity of 80%. It is suitable for both 1,000 V and 1,500 V voltage systems, depending on the thickness and is rated with a water vapor permeability of 1.6 g/m²/d.
