Nevados offers the TRACE ATT as its terrain-focused tracker platform for complex project sites
The tracker supports installation on slopes up to 37% and terrain undulation up to 15°
Terrain-aware backtracking and multiple coupling configurations are provided for site-specific layouts
US-based Nevados, which entered the survey last year, continues to list a single product – the TRACE All Terrain Tracker (TRACE ATT), now presented as an updated version of its earlier ATT platform.
As the name indicates, TRACE ATT is designed for advanced terrain-following capability, now enhanced to support slopes of up to 37% and accommodate up to 15° of undulation. In addition, Nevados specifies 2 terrain-coupling options: a Standard Coupling, which allows a ~2.5° net angle change at each foundation, and an Articulating Coupling, allowing up to ~15° of net angle change per foundation. Launched in 2019, this independent row 1P tracker is optimized for bifacial modules, with additional bifacial gains attributed to redesigned coupling gaps above foundations.
The typical row size accommodates 3 strings of both crystalline silicon modules and First Solar’s S6 and S7 series thin-film panels. The tracker is built with galvanized steel and, facilitated by independent module clips and a self-grounding mechanism, allows for flexibility during module changes. It is designed to operate at string voltages ranging from 600 V to 1.5 kV. TRACE ATT has a standard tracking range of motion of ±60°, extendable to ±75° for regions prone to hail. Operating within a temperature range of -20°C to +55°C, TRACE ATT maintains a 72 km/h (3-second) wind rating, although Nevados now notes that higher ratings for wind resistance can be configured depending on project requirements.
The tracker integrates a self-powered slew drive mechanism with ±1° precision, driven by a 24 V DC brushed motor. It is equipped with sensors to monitor wind speed, inclination, temperature, flood, and snow depth. The electronics and controls of TRACE ATT enable calculated tracking based on sun position. They support independent row backtracking schedules, with terrain-aware backtracking now included at no additional cost.
TRACE ATT features Zigbee Pro wireless communications, and the installation package includes PE-stamped structural calculations and drawings, with no special tools required for installation, thanks to its self-aligning design with only 2 bolt sizes.
The tracker is accompanied by a custom Nevados dashboard for monitoring and management. The product is offered with a 10-year warranty on the structure, and 5 years each on the motor and electronics. It is UL 3703 and UL 2703 certified. The delivery time spans 3 to 4 months, with a primary distribution focus on the USA, and potential expansion into other global markets.
